Try affinity photo free1/11/2024 ![]() ![]() There’s no subscription service, like with Adobe CC. What is particular impressive is that the software costs a bargain one-off fee under £50. This is not beginner-level stuff, it’s a mightily competent editing suite. You’ll probably know Serif more for its Windows based editing software PhotoPlus X, but more recently Serif delved into Mac with Affinity Photo, creating what we think is a legitimate alternative to Adobe Photoshop. ![]() ![]() We recently reviewed Picktorial 3 and here we have another, Serif Affinity Photo. Typically, tonal adjustments such as Brightness/Contrast, Curves (below) or Levels are used, while color adjustments like HSL and Recolor are popular the Black and White adjustment (below) can be used creatively.Īny adjustment layer has self-masking properties, meaning that pixel selections are converted to masks on adjustment layer creation or you can paint in grayscale directly on the adjustment layer.Īdjustments can be accessed from your Layers Panel or via the Adjustments Panel (if switched on via the Window menu) they are also available on various panels in the Develop Persona.Since Adobe moved into a subscription only service for its photo editing suite, we have seen some more cost effective alternatives available for one-off fees. ![]() They are independent non-destructive layers, meaning you can modify their settings at any time without affecting your layer content.
